Back to School - Back to School

Hello Friends.

Today is my second day of classes for my FINAL fall semester! I can't believe how fast time has gone by. I still can remember how I felt sitting in my high school classes dieing to get out and move on and now I am beginning my final year of college. People always tell you time flies by and to enjoy it and I have really seen that in my past few years.

I am going to be a busy-bee this semester so I know I will graduate in the blink of an eye! (So keep a look out for jobs for me! =]) Here's what is on my plate for this semester: I am working 15-18 hours a week at CoreMessage, Interning at FSU's Sports Information Office 10 hours a week and working athletic events some nights/weekends, taking three business classes in the late afternoon and one online class. I am also the VP of the Florida Public Relations Association so I have to attend bi-monthly meetings and plan a professional development trip for 50+ members. I am sure it will get super-stressful at times but I am crossing my fingers and trying to stay as focused as possible. Just bear with me and send me a friendly reminder if I get a little lax on the blog updates.

Big shout out to Joe - the winner of the First Annual Bay Lake Rib Cook-Off. He has a certificate and a pig trophy to prove it! If there are any challengers you can battle it out next August. Until them just call him the Rib Master. Kudos to Mare - she did a great job putting it together and it was a fun day!

Time for me to head to my management class though. Talk to you guys soon.

With Love - KK

I guess white shorts we a bad idea....

Saturday night Marian, Callie and I went to the Kenny Chesney, Miranda Lambert and Lady Antebellum concert. Driving there, this is what we could see:
This, as you can imagine got us very excited to sit in our lawn, uncovered seats. Once we got to the concert, where it wasn't raining we waited in the car because we knew what was coming our way and didn't want to get stuck in it besides it was lighting so there was no way the concert was going to start. After about 3o minutes of people watching aka laughing at drunks, rednecks and weirdos we decieded the rain has probably passed and it is safe to go inside.

We got to the lawn and scoped out seats. Once we put our blanket down, Lady Antebellum walked off stage. They were done, we had missed them. We ran into my friend Heather and talked to her for a little bit when I decieded I couldn't hold it anymore and had to use the ladies' room. Mare and Callie came with me to get drinks/use the potty. Right as we walked off the lawn, Miranda come on stage. Awesome. After going to three different bathrooms trying to find the one with a line less than 100 women waiting in it. Even the port-o-potties were 50 deep! After 20 minutes or so the three of us made it back to our lawn seats and enjoyed the rest of the concert.

At the end, when we were getting all our things together, we went to pick up the blanket and realized it was bloated with water weight. The best part was Marian strategically brought this one because it is a camping blanket and "wouldn't absorb water!" After a few minutes of ringing out our blanket we convinced my friend Heather's brother to carry it our for us.

Sometimes I forget how much fun concerts can be. Singing really loud to your favorite songs and dancing with your friends. It was a really fun night!

Pictures.

Check out all the decorating Ash and I did. We hung everything in the common area. It's not done yet but it's so much homey-er feeling already. We are beginning the tour now, please keep your arms in the legs in the confines of your desk until we come to a complete stop.

New Year, New Apartment

This week my parents and Joe came into town to help me move into my new apartment. Mom and Dad got here Friday night and we met them at Outback for dinner. I forgot how much I missed Bloomin' Onions. They are so delish. My parents slept in my bed that night and I slept on my airmatress on the floor. And by slept I mean all three of us were up tossing and turning and sighing loudly in annoyance because no one could sleep. At one point in the night I got so hot, I sat up and turned my fan on. Almost immediately I started hearing "brrrr" and the covers being pulled around on the bed. Then a couple minutes later "brrrr," "brrrrrrrrrr." Apparently Linda is incapable of asking for a blanket and just make incessant noises until someone obliges so I throw my blanket up on the bed and the "br's" stopped.

Saturday morning we got breakfast at Jenny's Lunchbox. It is a popular breakfast place in Tally. I had been a few times and not been particularly impressed but I figured I don't like breakfast anyway so my opinion probably doesn't count. I have decided after this last visit though that I will not be going back. There is nothing particularly bad about it, it is just painfully mediocre. There are much better places to eat and as much as I love picking out my favorite lunchboxes hanging from the ceiling, I think I am going to retire eating at Jenny's.

As usual our moving day was full of rain, rain, and more rain. Just the way it goes I suppose. My parents left Saturday night to go take care of their attention-needy daughter who is incapable of making plans for herself. :)

Sunday, Ashley and I spent the day shopping and decorating the common area of our apartment. I will post pictures soon, we all love it. It feels like a home, finally. So far, I am very happy with my decision to move. Hopefully it will keep going this well.

Love you all.
