Another weekend gone!

Thursday, my boss bought our office a table at the annual FPRA Roast and Toast. This year we roasted the Mayor of Tallahassee, John Marks. I think -- correction I know -- we had the best/most fun table at the event. I don't think we heard any of the roasting, we were enjoying our little bubble too much. (Although other people around us didn't appreciate it, oops!)

Above is a picture of Me, Rachel, and Dani. My favorite ladies at work. We are our the "support staff" aka young side of the office! :)

After the event, we went to Tantra to have a drink. While we were sitting around chatting, in walks Joe. He had come in town to surprise me! (From what I hear he was waiting around on me for awhile...guess he didn't remember how popular I am)

This is a picture of us from Tantra.

I then took a picture to show my "surprise face" as you can see, he was only there for an hour and already sick of me. True love people, true love.

As some of you know, next weekend I am moving. One of my roommates Ashley and I are transferring into an apartment one building down to live with a girl we know. We wee sick and tired of one of our roommates and decided we couldn't take it anymore. On Saturday, Joe encouraged us to clean up the common area of our apartment because it was DISGUSTING and would take awhile. *On a side note - You should all know, Ashley and I had NOTHING to do with the state of our common area. We stop using the kitchen before Christmas and the living area a few months ago. We would just visit each others bedrooms, closing our eyes as we walked through the common space* Ashley and I didn't even want to clean our Kitchen because the white squares on the floor were off-white with dirt and food crumbs. The worst of all though was the FRIDGE. Not only was there food rotting in the fridge but in the FREEZER as well. I didn't even know it was possible for food to rot in the freezer. Every time one was opened the apartment was filled with a heinous smell and if you are wondering...yes the roommate we dislike was still storing food in there and cooking. ECK!! We opened the fridge/freezer to find HUNDREDS of dead bugs. Thank god Joe was there because I was gagging at the site of it, there was no way I could have cleaned it. Febreeze in hand and trash bag at his side Joe cleaned out our fridge and saved the day. Then we cleaned everything with about 6 different products. It's amazing how gross people can be. Can't even describe how happy I am to be leaving the apartment I share with that piggy!

The rest of the weekend was just packing/stacking/planning for the big move on Saturday. I took Joe to the airport at 6 this morning so he could catch his flight. I am sleepy. Looking forward to an early night in bed. Only 6 more hours until I can.

Love. Love.

I have made up my mind!

Today, I decieded I am going to go travel Europe for a couple weeks when I graduate in May. It is something I want to do more than anything else in the world and the best time to do it is when I am post-college/pre-career with no obligations. So, on that note everyone start saving their pennies to contribute for my graduation present/europe fund! =]

Make a poor college girl's dream come true! Love you all!

Oops!

Recently, it has come to my attention that I have been a little lax on my blog updating. I knew it had been a little while but when I saw it was almost a month I was shocked. Mostly because I can't believe that weekend was that long ago! This summer is flying by. I am going to get you a rundown of my past month since I know everyone is on the edges of their seats waiting!

Since June 29th.... I have had lots of fun mini-vacations.

First, I went to New Smyrna on the annual Mendoza-Kelley family vaca for the 4th of July weekend. I was there Sat-Wed before returning to work Thursday morning. It was a much needed and appreciated vacation. Half because I was a green monster of everyone who was carefree and bored during there summer and half because I was tired of people shielding there eyes when looking at me because my skin was so white it had become reflective. Right when we got in town our first stop was the Breakers, everyone's favorite restaraunt. Who can resist fried corn nuggets? Not me...that's for sure. Overall there were lots of dance parties, beach games, and more dance parties. Dancing + Sun + Sand = Perfect Vacation.

I got back in town Wednesday night to a two day work week. Which I have discovered as the perfect workweek. In a very out of character move I unpacked and put away all of my suitcases by Thursday night. (Don't be to proud, it was out of necessity) My cousin Ally (AKA Alexandra) and her friend Liz were coming into town Friday night. Saturday started their tour of Tallahassee. I took them around campus and showed them one of our big lecture halls. It was mainly a driving tour because it was another sweltering-hot day in Tally. We ate lunch at one of my favorites (and theirs now too) Mr.Roboto which is a fast-food style japanese habachi grill. Think all the yummy food minus the drawn out show. Yum. We went to Bill's where they picked up some FSU garb it seems I am well on my way to having an alli at Family events who will be anti-gator! Woo! Saturday night the three of us and my roommate Ashley ate dinner at a great italian place called Bella Bella. Although the night we went they didn't have cherry coke, grenadine, the catch of the day or fried artichoke and spinach ravollis. It's pretty bad when you have to default onto a third choice for dinner! When we got home their friends came over and we hung out at my apartment before going to AJ's which is a few blocks from my house. Sunday we woke up and got a late breakfast at another Tallahassee favorite Bagel-Bagel and then spent the whole day by the pool before cooking dinner at their friends house. A very fun weekend and great cousin bonding/recruiting family seminoles weekend!

NOW! We are caught up to where we should be. This past weekend I had mini-vaca number 3 of the month. Where did I go you ask? Why, the river of course. I can't go more than a few weeks without taking a trip down there. This weekend it was Marian and Steve's friends and Joe and I just tagged along. Everyone got to the house Friday night (all 11 of us). Saturday morning we had to wake up bright and early so we could go scalloping. I cooked my potato breakfast casserole that everyone seemed to like and we packed up the boat floating away before 10. We made a pit stop and filled up the boat before heading out to the Gulf. The first place we anchored the boys jumped in and "scoped" out and it was deemed acceptable to drop anchor. After about 10 minutes all the boys came back to the boat complaining the area was to shallow and not grassy enough so up the anchor went and farther out into the Gulf we trekked. Stop number #2 was looking better so the boys jumped out again. About 15 minutes later the boys came back saying it was to shallow again. So up went the anchor and further out into the Gulf we trekked. Before stop #3 there are some mighty big black clouds looming around us and it starts raining. Awesome. The boys decide to take us to the edge of the storm to try and miss it so farther out into the Gulf we trekked. (Mind you, were are 11 people on a pontoon boat with a 90 on it, we are hitting top speeds of about 12 mph and getting stuck every 3-5 minutes because seaweed it getting stuck in the prop) At stop #3 all the boys jump in and swim again. As usual Steve and Austin disappear into the Gulf oblivious to how far away from the boat they are swimming. All the girls on Board (Marian, Tera, Debbie, and I) are noticing that the black clouds are no longer behind us they are in fact coming from every direction. After about 15 minutes...like clockwork the boys come back and what's wrong with this spot? It's to deep! Boys, Boys, Boys! That is all I have to say about that. After much convincing and debating and radar checking and more debating we finally talked the boys into taking us back to the house to wait out the storm instead of getting stuck in it and ending up as a newspaper headline like this one "Boat of 11 idiots get stuck in worse storm of summer on worlds slowest pontoon boat, all died from ignorance...that's what they get." We got back to the house and of course it didn't rain more than a sprinkle. Oops. We ate lunch and started fishing off the seawall. I caught 3 catfish. One was pregnant. I said I automatically won because if you count the eggs...I technically caught the most fish. Danny was a close second though with his stingray catch. So cool. All the boys decieded even though catfish are the garbage trucks of the water and everyone always throws them back we were going to fry them up and eat them. Good call, they were delicous. After a couple hours of fishing we loading up the rafts and went down to the swimming hole. We took the pontoon boat and the fast jetski boat (the one everyone makes fun of for being lame but secretly loves riding) After floating for a couple hours and with some liquid courage I decieded to take the fast boat back with Bernie, TJ, and Joe. Since the pontoon-ers were stopping to buy some things from the fish market we decieded to go wake hunting. After about 12 hundred 180's and spins and Joe's face turning purple...a fishing boat finally came our way going fast. Woo hoo! Jumping the wake of other boats in the lame-mobile is my new favorite hobby. Way fun! Sunday was kind of a wash due to yucky weather but Joe, Mare, Stevie, TJ, and I stayed until about 3 because we werent in a rush to go anywhere and needed to clean up the house.

Last night, I got back around 530 and as per a usual Sunday night attempted to scrounge up a meal from the random stuff I have left at home and layed in bed watching movies/tv for the rest of the night until I fell asleep.

Now you are caught up. Isn't my life fascinating?

Loveeeeeeee,
Me
