The end is near...

The end of my final Fall semester that is. It sure has gone by fast too. I feel like I have had no time to even take a breath. It has been good though.

2 weeks ago I went on the FPRA trip I have been planning all semester. It went really well. I was so stressed before and during but was actually able to enjoy most of it and everyone seemed to really enjoy the companies we visited. I wrote a brief recap about the trip and where we went for the FPRA blog. If you want to read it just go to this link: http://bit.ly/txNiF

Be back soon. Loveeee.

Great Day!

Today, Tina, the Sports Information Director, asked another intern and I if we wanted to watch Coach Bowden give interviews about the BYU game. Naturally, we both said yes immediately.

Not only did I get to watch him give interviews (which was awesome), I got to meet him and take a picture with him. :) The picture is blurry because it was taken on an iphone. He is as nice as anyone would expect him to be though.

La De Da

Last weekend I worked my first home game in the press box. Thank goodness I did too because it did not stop raining the ENTIRE game. I don't know if anybody saw the game either but...it was NOT pretty.

Mainly my responsibility was to get the stats from each quarter and pass them out to my row of press-people. In my row I also had a couple of NFL scouts. One of them, the one from the NY Giants, told me I was awesome and asked for my name. I felt so cool.

This week has been crazy with meetings and all my usual things. I am thinking about becoming a Mary Kay consultant. Any thoughts/suggestions? Would any of ya'll buy stuff from me? ha. I am also going to try and apply for the FPRA scholarship. Hopefully I will have time but most people said it is a good 10-15 hours of work so I am going to try and squeeze it in somewhere.

At the FPRA student meeting on Wed. night this week I passed around a sheet for people to sign up if they are planning on going on the trip this semester. (If you don't know as VP it is my job to plan a trip for the club to visit professionals in another area - this year is Orlando) When I got the sheets back I kind of freaked out 65 PEOPLE signed up!!!!!! Usually 40ish go on the Fall trip! That's an extra 25 people and A LOT Of people to plan for/that could potentially complain about the trip I planned. No pressure though.

I am SO Excited for everyone to come in town next weekend for the FSU v USF game. It will be a little crazy but it should be a lot fun (if we win that is!!)

I promise I will be back sooner than 10 days to update next time. :)

LOVEEEEEE.

Hump-Day

Well, you gotta love having Monday's off...the middle of the week comes so much faster!

Monday was the FSU v Miami game and sadly we lost. I really dislike Miami fans, they are all so vulgar and rude. Like, is it really necessary to walk down the street flicking everyone off screaming "F FSU" and "F you" and so on. I got really mad at one point and Elaine thought I was going to get all the boys in the group beat up because I was yelling back at all the Miami fans. I wouldn't do that though, I am too nice, right? :)

This weekend is the Jacksonville State game -- should be an easy one if we play as well as we did on Monday. I will be working with the Sports Information Office on this game. So far I know I will be helping set up the press box before the game but not really sure what else will happen! I will let you know though.

Love. :)

Work, Work, Work - All day long!

Hey All.

Nothing to exciting going on around here. My days pretty much look like work, internship, class, hw/club stuff/meetings, repeat. Sleeping and eating squeezes in when it can.

Today at the SIO one of my supervisors told me he has noticed how reliable I am and he appreciates how I do everything that is asked of me without question. He then told me I should be expecting for him to rely heavily on me because of this. So, that's pretty awesome since Ihave only been there a week and a half! I have really enjoyed my time there though, everyone is really laid back and friendly ands even though there are like 15 interns, almost all the staff has already learned my name. So, even though I am really busy...as of now I am really enjoying myself and still have time to get everything done I need.

I hope the weather is nice down there than it is here. It has been raining EVERYDAY!!! And of course they are all "scattered showers" so they hang around all day and rain on me when I am going to work at 7:30 am and rain on me when I am walking to my internship at 11 am and when I am walking to my classes around 3:30 and 5:00. And whoever pored FSU's concrete should never work again...every fun feet is another HUGE puddle that is impossible to navigate around so you have to walk through it and the water is ankle-high. It is not such a pleasant experience as you would imagine. Rain blows when you are outside a lot!

What's that I hear? The wonderful sound of my lunch being done. Time to eat and tackle some homework.

Much Love.

Back to School - Back to School

Hello Friends.

Today is my second day of classes for my FINAL fall semester! I can't believe how fast time has gone by. I still can remember how I felt sitting in my high school classes dieing to get out and move on and now I am beginning my final year of college. People always tell you time flies by and to enjoy it and I have really seen that in my past few years.

I am going to be a busy-bee this semester so I know I will graduate in the blink of an eye! (So keep a look out for jobs for me! =]) Here's what is on my plate for this semester: I am working 15-18 hours a week at CoreMessage, Interning at FSU's Sports Information Office 10 hours a week and working athletic events some nights/weekends, taking three business classes in the late afternoon and one online class. I am also the VP of the Florida Public Relations Association so I have to attend bi-monthly meetings and plan a professional development trip for 50+ members. I am sure it will get super-stressful at times but I am crossing my fingers and trying to stay as focused as possible. Just bear with me and send me a friendly reminder if I get a little lax on the blog updates.

Big shout out to Joe - the winner of the First Annual Bay Lake Rib Cook-Off. He has a certificate and a pig trophy to prove it! If there are any challengers you can battle it out next August. Until them just call him the Rib Master. Kudos to Mare - she did a great job putting it together and it was a fun day!

Time for me to head to my management class though. Talk to you guys soon.

With Love - KK
